TallGrass Writers Guild, an independent and self-supporting arts organization, has been providing opportunities for over a quarter-century to writers locally (Chicago), regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Publishing opportunities in its annual Black and White series of anthologies, (now in its 23rd year), are well known for having given over 550 first-time writers their starts, some of whom have won $500 Grand Prizes for their anthology entries.
Performance opportunities are monthly open mics, themed readings, and Performance Ensemble programs in high profile venues have included Chicago's historic Sulzer Regional Library, Northwestern University, and Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington Cultural Center.
Current annual U.S. TWG membership fee of $50 ($30 for students) includes four 12-page newsletters each year. Newsletters contain current arts events; member news; book reviews; and pages of Manuscripts Wanted that list publications seeking writers’ submissions.
